The performance is intended to provoke discussion about the invisibility of maids in Brazil. After all, the scene is repeated daily: a black woman, dressed in white, pushes a stroller with a child as white as her uniform. At work, the cart is parked at a certain point in the city. The invitation to passers-by is made through a white balloon nailed to the cart with the words: “A Babá Quer Passear (The Nanny Wants a Stroll).”

ANA FLÁVIA CAVALCANTI (BRA)

performer, daughter of a maid. Her mother and her experiences are the main inspirations for the creation of the performances “A Babá Quer Passear” and “SERVIÇAL,” through which she discusses the current condition of women who work as maids in Brazil.
